Some more unusual weather yesterday (May 4th) when huge waves have hit the French Riviera between Nice and Cannes!
Many Cote d’Azur beaches were deserted as waves of over 10 metres (33 ft) battered the coast causing major damage. At the popular resort of Nice the Promenade des Anglais and beaches were closed.
In Cannes seaside many restaurants were damaged and cars were overturned. The storm has hit just days before the start of the 63rd Cannes Film Festival.
