It’s a very popular area and attracts lots of foreign buyers looking for a holiday or permanent home. Agde has its own train station and airport. Montpellier and Carcassonne airports are also within easy reach.
Agde City
The city sits on the Herault River 3 kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea. Narrow winding roads with stone houses three and four stories high, many dating back 500 years and more. Some of the houses have been converted into apartments and the majority of them are in good repair. On the fringes of the city you will find lots of modern houses, apartments and villas.
Grau d’Agde
Although there is a very old tiny village here, this area which edges up to the Mediterranean Sea, is made up of modern houses and villas with lots of holiday apartment blocks. Some of the homes are only used for holidays but lots are used for all year living.
La Tamarissiere
A small village along the River Herault on the Mediterranean coast, Villas and modern houses with apartment blocks. This area comes alive during the summer and during the winter many of the holiday homes are locked up and most of the local shops are closed.
Cap d’Agde
This is a purpose built Holiday Resort and it attracts tourists from all corners of the globe. It consists mostly of apartment complexes many having swimming pools, private landscaped gardens and tennis courts. There are also many luxury houses and villas. Although it’s a holiday area many of the homes are occupied all year round.
